An MP who claims he was “castigated” after warning parliament about organised sex abuse gangs has welcomed the jail sentence of 12 men who exploited a vulnerable schoolgirl.

Conservative Kris Hopkins, MP for Keighley and Ilkley, spoke out after 12 Asian men were sentenced for up to 20 years on Monday for grooming and abusing a vulnerable teenager for their own “selfish, sexual gratification”.

The men, all from West Yorkshire, abused or sexually assaulted the girl – aged 13 and 14 at the time – in encounters arranged by a violent drug dealer over a period of 13 months between 2011 and 2012.

On one occasion, the girl was gang-raped by five of the defendants.

Some of the abuse took place in an underground car park where there was graffiti with the victim’s name and the word ‘corner’ daubed on the wall.

Bradford Crown Court heard the men treated the girl as though she was “utterly worthless”.

Two of the men also received sentences for offences against other victims.

Khalid Raja Mahmood, 34, received a 17-year extended sentence for two charges of rape and three of sexual activity with a child. The sentences includes a jail term of 13.5 years and an extended licence period of three-and-a-half years. He is currently serving an eight-year jail sentence for raping a woman in a park in Keighley and trying to abduct a 10-year-old girl as she played on a scooter near her home.
Tauqeer Hussain, 23, of Belgrave Road, Keighley, was jailed for a total of 18 years for two counts of rape against the first victim and one against another teenage girl.
Yasser Kabir, 25, of Belgrave Road, Keighley, was jailed for a total of 20 years for three counts of rape against the first victim and four charges of rape, two charges of sexual assault, two charges of assault by penetration and four charges of causing a child to engage in sexual activity against two young girls.
Sufyan Ziarab, 23, of Kendall Mellor Court, Keighley, was jailed for 15 years for two counts of rape.
Bilal Ziarab, 21, of Sedgwick Close, Bradford, was jailed for 12 years for two counts of rape.
Israr Ali, 19, of Devonshire Street West, Keighley, was sentenced to three-and-half-years in a young offenders’ institution for one count of rape.
Nasir Khan, 24, of Buxton Street, Keighley, was jailed for 13 years for one count of rape.
Saqib Younis, 29, of Bradford Street, Keighley, was jailed for 13 years for one count of rape.
Hussain Sardar, 19, of Bradford Street, Keighley, was sentenced to six years in a young offenders’ institution for one count of rape.
Zain Ali, 20, of Buxton Street, Keighley, was sentenced to eight years in a young offenders’ institution for one count of rape.
Faisal Khan, 27, of Buxton Street, Keighley, was jailed for 13 years for one count of rape.
Mohammed Akram, 63, of Holker Street, Keighley, was jailed for five years for one count of sexual activity with a child.

Mr Hopkins, who revealed his concerns about organised gangs in parliament in November 2012, said that the whole community must “work together to rid ourselves of this cancer”.

He spoke months after nine Asian men were jailed for grooming girls as young as 13 after hearing from authorities of similar incidents happening in his constituency.

He said: “I was castigated from many quarters, received many abusive pieces of correspondence and on one occasion was forced to clear my constituency office after receiving a threat.

“The heavy sentences rightly handed down underline the nature and the truth of the evil I spoke about back then and will continue to raise until it has been eradicated.”…

Germany: Muslim shouts “inshallah” as he rapes student, then asks her if she enjoyed it

Inshallah = if Allah wills it. Here is another scene from the glorious new multicultural Europe: the rapist is invoking Allah during his rape because he knows that this use of Infidel womn is sanctioned in Islam, for the Qur’an allows Muslim men to have sexual relations with the “captives of the right hand” (4:3, 4:24, 23:1-6, 33:50, 70:30).

An Algerian man who almost killed his 25-year-old student victim shouted out ‘if Allah wills it’ in Arabic as he raped her in a darkened alley, a court has heard.

The man, identified only by his first name Rheda, is accused of following the student as she walked home from a nightclub at 5am in Hannover, Germany.

Afterwards, with his victim badly beaten, he is alleged to have climbed off her and asked her if she enjoyed it.

The shocking details were revealed at the trial of the 37-year-old asylum seeker from Algeria who has denied rape. Prosecutors say DNA evidence links him to the crime.

The young woman, identified only by her first name Lara, said it was the worst moment of her life when she was attacked.

She said: ‘He asked me in broken German if I had [the] time. Before I could reply he then grabbed me by the arm and pulled me down an alleyway.

‘He told me “I need sex”. I opened my mouth to scream but he put his hand over my mouth. I had a pepper spray, and I tried to spray it at him but he grabbed it off me, and used it on me instead.

‘Then he threw me onto the ground, and tried to pull off my trousers but he couldn’t do it. Then he started screaming at me to get undressed.’

She told the court she had tried to win time by begging him to leave her alone and hoped that someone would come past.

Nobody did, and when she tried to scream again he started beating her in the face and he sprayed the pepper spray on her face again.

He had banged her head on the ground repeatedly until she was almost unconscious, and she thought she was going to die.

She said: ‘He put his hand over my mouth and closed my nose, and I thought I was going to suffocate. I then indicated to him that I had given in, and would do what he wanted if he let me breathe.’

He then raped her and she said that throughout he was talking to himself, shouting ‘Inshallah’ – which is Arabic for ‘if Allah wills it’.

She said: ‘Afterwards he asked me if it was good, and if I had enjoyed it.’…

Russia hit 1,888 targets in Syria in a week; US count? Just 16

The Russians have often accused the Obama Administration of just pretending to go after the Islamic State by mounting a few airstrikes just for show. And here we are.

BERLIN — In the seven days before the announcement early Friday that a cease-fire might go into effect in Syria in another week, Russian forces hit more than 100 times as many targets within the embattled nation as a military coalition that includes the United States.

Exactly how the cease-fire proposed at an international conference in Munich would work is still being decided. The agreement announced by Russian and U.S. officials said “a nationwide cessation of hostilities … should apply to any party currently engaged in military or paramilitary hostilities” except the Islamic State, al-Qaida’s Syrian affiliate — Jabhat al Nusra — “or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the United Nations Security Council.”

Since Russia considers any organization attacking the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad a terrorist group, the question arises of just how its efforts might change.

And those efforts are substantial, as a weekly report by the Russian Ministry of Defense makes clear. In a report posted Thursday on its website, the ministry noted that its jets flew 510 combat sorties and hit 1,888 “terrorist objects” in Syria. The previous week’s report claimed 464 sorties that hit a total of 1,354 “terrorist objects.”

Daily reports from the U.S. military for the same period indicate a much lower level of activity: 16 targets struck in Syria. The reports also said those forces hit 91 targets in Iraq.

The reports suggest Russia has been far more aggressive than the United States has leading up to the cease-fire proposal.

The most recent Russian report, for instance, notes, “During air duty mission, Su-25 attack aircraft detected three hardware columns transporting militants, armament and munitions along the highway al Qaryatayn-Homs. The strike resulted in elimination of nine heavy trucks with munitions and more than 40 militants.”

A Feb. 9 report from U.S. Central Command gave that day’s actions this way: “Near Kobani, one strike struck an ISIL tactical unit. Near Manbij, one strike struck an ISIL tactical unit. Near Mar’a, one strike struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL fighting position.”…

Pope and Patriarch of Moscow decry persecution of Mideast Christians, don’t name persecutor, call for dialogue

The Pope and the Patriarch of Moscow met in Havana. What an interesting choice for a meeting place. Were they reporting to their superiors? Anyway, while there, they decried the Muslim persecution of Middle Eastern Christians. To them, however, it isn’t the Muslim persecution of Christians, but just the persecution of Christians by some mysterious unnamed agent. They speak about it entirely in the passive voice, as if no one were actually doing it. It could just as well be an earthquake or a hurricane. Yet even though they don’t dare to speak honestly about what is happening and why, they seem to think that “interreligious dialogue” will help solve the problem — as if “dialogue” is going to make the Qur’anic imperative to make war against and subjugate Christians (9:29) go away. They’re whistling in the dark, like most all Christian clerics nowadays.

8. Our gaze must firstly turn to those regions of the world where Christians are victims of persecution. In many countries of the Middle East and North Africa whole families, villages and cities of our brothers and sisters in Christ are being completely exterminated. Their churches are being barbarously ravaged and looted, their sacred objects profaned, their monuments destroyed. It is with pain that we call to mind the situation in Syria, Iraq and other countries of the Middle East, and the massive exodus of Christians from the land in which our faith was first disseminated and in which they have lived since the time of the Apostles, together with other religious communities.

9. We call upon the international community to act urgently in order to prevent the further expulsion of Christians from the Middle East. In raising our voice in defence of persecuted Christians, we wish to express our compassion for the suffering experienced by the faithful of other religious traditions who have also become victims of civil war, chaos and terrorist violence.

10. Thousands of victims have already been claimed in the violence in Syria and Iraq, which has left many other millions without a home or means of sustenance. We urge the international community to seek an end to the violence and terrorism and, at the same time, to contribute through dialogue to a swift return to civil peace. Large–scale humanitarian aid must be assured to the afflicted populations and to the many refugees seeking safety in neighbouring lands.

We call upon all those whose influence can be brought to bear upon the destiny of those kidnapped, including the Metropolitans of Aleppo, Paul and John Ibrahim, who were taken in April 2013, to make every effort to ensure their prompt liberation.

11. We lift our prayers to Christ, the Saviour of the world, asking for the return of peace in the Middle East, “the fruit of justice” (Is 32:17), so that fraternal co–existence among the various populations, Churches and religions may be strengthened, enabling refugees to return to their homes, wounds to be healed, and the souls of the slain innocent to rest in peace.

We address, in a fervent appeal, all the parts that may be involved in the conflicts to demonstrate good will and to take part in the negotiating table. At the same time, the international community must undertake every possible effort to end terrorism through common, joint and coordinated action. We call on all the countries involved in the struggle against terrorism to responsible and prudent action. We exhort all Christians and all believers of God to pray fervently to the providential Creator of the world to protect His creation from destruction and not permit a new world war. In order to ensure a solid and enduring peace, specific efforts must be undertaken to rediscover the common values uniting us, based on the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

12. We bow before the martyrdom of those who, at the cost of their own lives, have given witness to the truth of the Gospel, preferring death to the denial of Christ. We believe that these martyrs of our times, who belong to various Churches but who are united by their shared suffering, are a pledge of the unity of Christians. It is to you who suffer for Christ’s sake that the word of the Apostle is directed: “Beloved … rejoice to the extent that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice exultantly” (1 Pet 4:12–13).

13. Interreligious dialogue is indispensable in our disturbing times. Differences in the understanding of religious truths must not impede people of different faiths to live in peace and harmony. In our current context, religious leaders have the particular responsibility to educate their faithful in a spirit which is respectful of the convictions of those belonging to other religious traditions. Attempts to justify criminal acts with religious slogans are altogether unacceptable. No crime may be committed in God’s name, “since God is not the God of disorder but of peace” (1 Cor 14:33).

Kenya: Muslim relatives of Somali Christian beat him unconscious for his faith

“Hassan declined to name the relatives, saying he feared they would kill him. Somalis generally believe all Somalis are Muslims by birth and that consequently any Somali who becomes a Christian can be charged with apostasy, but Hassan was raised Christian from childhood.” Apostasy is punishable by death according to Islamic law, and from the extent of his injuries, it looks as if Hassan’s relatives were trying to kill him.

NAIROBI, Kenya (Morning Star News) – A Christian of Somali descent in Kenya is unable to see or eat after Muslim relatives beat him unconscious on Sunday (Feb. 7) outside Nairobi, the young man said from his hospital bed.

The relatives indicated to 26-year-old Hassan (last name withheld for security reasons) that they ambushed him because they had learned that he and others were holding mid-week, Christian devotional times in their home.

Hassan and his 15-year-old brother were on their way at 9 a.m. to Sunday worship at a church (name withheld) whose building is 10 kilometers (six miles) from their home when they were attacked. Muslim family members and other Somalis continually monitor their movements, especially on Sundays, and for security reasons Hassan and his brother customarily take a different route to the worship service than their mother and other siblings do.

As the brothers made their way down a pathway off Ngong Road, their uncles hit Hassan from behind, he said. His brother said one of the attackers was a relative who lives 40 kilometers (24 miles) from them, on the other side of Nairobi.

“They hit me with a blunt object, and I fell down bleeding,” Hassan said. “Then they stepped on my stomach, and while I was struggling, another hit me on my head [with the blunt object]. I was not able to know what happened after that point. I just woke up to find my mother screaming for help.”

Hassan’s younger brother, who managed to escape and fetch his mother, said that one of the assailants had told Hassan, “You have been deceiving us that you have been having a ‘family meeting’ – we have found out that you have been conducting Christian activities, which is against of our family tradition of being a Muslim family.”

Hassan declined to name the relatives, saying he feared they would kill him. Somalis generally believe all Somalis are Muslims by birth and that consequently any Somali who becomes a Christian can be charged with apostasy, but Hassan was raised Christian from childhood.

In an interview at his hospital bed on Wednesday (Feb. 10), Morning Star News learned that he was unable to eat, could take only drink and was unable to walk. His eyes were so swollen that he was unable to see, and he complained of severe stomach pains. He could sit up only with his mother’s help. Internal stomach injuries appeared to have hampered his urinary system….
