Canada: Two Islamic organizations stripped of charity status for funding Pakistani jihadis

ISNA Islamic Services of Canada was stripped of its charitable status for “non-compliance”…..Authorities also revoked a related charity, the Canadian Islamic Trust Foundation.

Also to be noted:

The money, raised by the Toronto-based Jami Mosque, was passed to the ISNA Development Foundation “for remit” to the Relief Organization of Kashmiri Muslims (ROKM)…..research indicates that ROKM is the charitable arm of Jamaat-e-Islami.

Questions remain: has Jami Mosque has been fully investigated? Did the leaders of that mosque know that they were really raising money for the charitable arm of Jamaat-e-Islami, the armed wing of which is Hizbul Mujahideen?

This revocation of charity status of these two Canadian Islamic groups marks a step in the right direction, as Canada has a long to do-list in ending Islamic supremacist and jihadi incursion, beginning with more efficient and timely investigations on terror-funding groups:

It’s unclear why the CRA waited three more years before following through with the revocations of ISNA Islamic Services and the Canadian Islamic Trust.

Canada (like other Western nations) also needs to recognize that jihadi doctrines of hate and conquest, and Sharia human rights violations, are being preached in mosques across the country. Accountability — and in some cases arrests — are necessary. A few examples:

Imam Said Rageah at the Abu Huraira Centre was found preaching hate against Christians and Jews.

The resident Imam of Masjid Toronto in downtown Toronto, affiliated with the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), has called for armed jihad and the chopping off of hands for stealing; in 2016, imams at the mosque “recited supplications to Allah in support of the mujahideen everywhere, the total destruction of the enemies of Islam and the purification of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the ‘filth of the Jews.’”

In Saskatchewan, Muhammad Mustafa Mustaan preached that democracy is brutal, evil and not compatible with Islam.

A Quebec Imam preached that “beating [women] in Islam is a type of education.”

London, Ontario Imam Mazin Abdul Adhim — a senior cleric of Hizb ut-Tahrir — called for Muslims to unite and form a global caliphate.

The well-known Canadian imam Syed Soharwardy — frequently deemed “moderate” — declaredthat Sharia was the solution and the jizya was not discriminatory.

In 2014, the Muslim “charity” known as the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy (IRFAN) was also stripped of its charitable status for funding Hamas, and declared a terrorist organization.

In 2012, the Muslim Youth Group — the World Assembly of Muslim Youth — was found to be tied to al-Qaeda, and also stripped of charity status.

The promotion of the Muslim Association of Canada’s (MAC) “Revolution in Islamic Work in Canada” has also been exposed since 2013, with terrorist charities found to be linked to the MAC.

Far more Islamic organizations need to be thoroughly investigated for terrorism links in Canada and in other Western nations, and not only stripped of charitable status, but outlawed as jihadist/terrorist entities and enemies of democratic states.

“Government revokes group’s charity status, audit cites possible funding of Pakistani militants”, by Stewart Bell and Sean Craig, Global News, July 19, 2017:

Federal regulators have revoked the charity status of a Canadian Islamic organization after an audit uncovered problems including tax receipts that were issued for donations to a Pakistani group linked to armed militancy.

ISNA Islamic Services of Canada was stripped of its charitable status for “non-compliance,” according to records obtained by Global News. Authorities also revoked a related charity, the Canadian Islamic Trust Foundation.

Both are former affiliates of the Islamic Society of North America-Canada (ISNA-Canada), and shared its Mississauga, Ont. address. Politicians of all stripes have attended ISNA-Canada events, notably Justin Trudeau in 2013 and, in April, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale.

The Canada Revenue Agency took action four years after the ISNA Development Foundation lost its charity status over fundraising for a Pakistani relief group linked to militancy in the disputed Kashmir region.

Among the findings that led to the latest two revocations was that ISNA Islamic Services tax receipts had been issued for collections by a Toronto mosque for the “charitable arm” of a Pakistani group whose armed wing was fighting Indian forces.

The money, raised by the Toronto-based Jami Mosque, was passed to the ISNA Development Foundation “for remit” to the Relief Organization of Kashmiri Muslims (ROKM), the CRA Charities Directorate alleged in the newly-released records.

“Our research indicates that ROKM is the charitable arm of Jamaat-e-Islami, a political organization that actively contests the legitimacy of India’s governance over the state of Jammu and Kashmir, including reportedly through the activities of its armed wing Hizbul Mujahideen,” the CRA wrote.

Outlining the audit findings in a letter to ISNA Islamic Services, federal officials said Hizbul Mujahideen had been listed as a terrorist organization by the Council of the European Union and the government of India.

“Given the identified commonalities in directorship between ROKM and Jamaat-e-Islami and the Hizbul Mujahideen executive committee, concerns exist that the funds collected and disbursed as part of this relief fund may have been used to support the political efforts of Jamaat-e-Islami and/or its armed wing Hizbul Mujahideen.”

The leader of Hizbul Mujahideen, Syed Salahuddin, was placed on the U.S. State Department’s list of designated terrorists on June 26. He had threatened to train suicide bombers and turn Kashmir “into a graveyard for Indian forces,” the listing said.

“As the federal regulator of charities, the CRA contributes to the government’s efforts to combat terrorist financing by protecting the charity registration system in Canada from abuse,” said Zoltan Csepregi, a CRA spokesman.

Csepregi said the CRA regularly exercises its authority to notify CSIS, the RCMP, and the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada when there are concerns that an organization is providing support to terrorism. However, he declined to comment on specifics for confidentiality reasons.

On its website, ISNA-Canada describes its mission as “building an Islamic way of life in North America.” It performs marriages and funerals, aids Syrian refugees and held a seminar on radicalization. It remains a registered charity with reported revenues of more than $3-million in 2015.

Audits of ISNA-Canada and its former affiliates began in 2011, said Syed Imtiaz Ahmad, the ISNA-Canada president and chair of ISNA Islamic Services. He said the audits were ordered after irregularities were brought to the CRA’s attention. Four charities were audited because the CRA suspected they were “in a sense indistinguishable,” he said.

The audits covered the years 2007 to 2009. But it wasn’t until June 2014 that the CRA informed the charities they risked losing their registration. ISNA Islamic Trust was also told it could face a $425,000 penalty.

It’s unclear why the CRA waited three more years before following through with the revocations of ISNA Islamic Services and the Canadian Islamic Trust, which came into effect on May 13. But in letters dated March 30, the CRA said that after reviewing the charities’ written responses to the audits, the government’s concerns had “not been alleviated.”

According to the records, ISNA Islamic Services had failed to keep proper donation records and had funded two separate organizations, the Islamic Centre of Toronto, known as the Jami mosque, and the Islamic Book Service, without exercising control over either group.

It had also issued $340,000 worth of receipts for money collected by the Jami mosque.

After Muslim cop kills unarmed woman, Minneapolis mayor reassures Muslims, warns against “Islamophobia”

It is increasingly clear, as we learn about Mohamed Noor’s nervousness and jumpiness and lack of respect for women, and from his own account of events that he relayed to friends (that he was “startled” and reacted by opening fire), that Mohamed Noor was not cut out to be a policeman. He did not have the temperament for it, and if he hadn’t killed Justine Damond, he would likely have done something similar at some point.

So why was he on the force at all? Because he was the first Somali Muslim on the Minneapolis police force. He was a symbol of our glorious multicultural mosaic. He was a rebuke to “Islamophobes” and proof that what they say is false. Minneapolis authorities placed a great deal of faith in Mohamed Noor. He was for them the triumph of diversity, the victory of their world view.

But he has let them down. He is not a jihad terrorist. This was not a jihad attack. He is just a trigger-happy, panicky, reckless individual who held his job not because he was fit for it, but because of what he symbolized. And in the wake of his failure, Minneapolis multiculturalists aren’t about to reconsider their religion. On the contrary, they are doubling down. Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges has immediately recognized — as authorities do everywhere after jihad attacks — that the real victims are not those who were killed or wounded, but the Muslim community. She should have issued a statement saying that she recognized that Mohamed Noor was not hired because he was competent, but because he was a Somali Muslim, and that she sees now that Leftist social engineering on the police force costs lives. She should have promised that from now on, police officers will be hired based on their fitness for the job, not their religion or ethnicity.

Instead, this. Mayor Hodges is reassuring Muslims and warning against “Islamophobia,” as if a non-Muslim police officer had shot an unarmed Muslim woman. But that’s not what happened. And in issuing this warning, Hodges is only reinforcing the false premises that led to the killing of Justine Damond in the first place: the idea that Muslims are a victimized, persecuted community that needs special consideration, such that an incompetent Muslim police officer had to be hired. This just ensures that in the future, there will be more Justine Damonds.

Betsy Hodges
17 hrs · Minneapolis, MN ·

To the Somali community: I want you to know that you are a valued and appreciated part of Minneapolis. I stand with you and support you. The strength and beauty of the Somali and East African communities are a vital part of what makes Minneapolis so strong and beautiful. I am grateful to be your neighbor.

This week a Somali police officer, Officer Mohamed Noor, shot and killed a woman under circumstances we don’t yet comprehend. Justine Damond’s death was tragic and awful for everyone. And I want to be very clear that Officer Noor, a fully trained officer in the Minneapolis Police Department, won’t be treated differently than any other officer.

Justine’s death is a tragedy for our city. We cannot compound that tragedy by turning to racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia. It is unjust and ridiculous to assert that an entire community be held responsible for the actions of one person. That will not be tolerated in Minneapolis. If you are experiencing discrimination, you can file a complaint at http://www.minneapolismn.gov/civil…/discrimination-complaint

Neighbor of Muslim cop who killed unarmed woman says killer is “nervous…jumpy…has little respect for women”

“It looks increasingly likely Noor’s defence will be that he panicked and believed his squad car was attack after a loud noise — described by some sources as a banging on the car — and seeing a figure rushing in the dark towards them.”

Weak defense. Officers ought to be able to stand seeing someone rush toward them in the dark without immediately opening fire.

“He is extremely nervous … he is a little jumpy … he doesn’t really respect women, the least thing you say to him can set him off. When they say a policeman shot an Australian lady I thought uh, oh but then when they said who it was I was like, ‘OK.’…He has little respect for women he has little respect for blacks and kids.”

Here is yet more evidence that Noor was not fit to be a police officer only on the force to head off “Islamophobia” charges. With three complaints against him in two years, Mohamed Noor seems at very least to be dangerously reckless and/or incompetent. It is likely that Minneapolis officials were so anxious to have a Somali Muslim police officer they could showcase that they put Mohamed Noor on the force and kept him there when his obvious shortcomings would have had a non-Muslim officer fired or not hired in the first place.

“Neighbour of Justine Damond’s killer gives shocking new insight into his behaviour,” by Sarah Blake, Daily Telegraph, July 20, 2017:

KILLER cop Mohamed Noor is known in the townhouse complex where his large family lives as quick-tempered, “jumpy” and “extremely nervous”.

New insight into the character of the Minneapolis policeman emerged on Thursday as investigators released transcripts of the two emergency calls Australian life coach Justine Damond made just before Noor shot her dead last Saturday night.

Noor, 31, is the oldest of Mohamed Abass and Rahmo Ali’s ten children and is a frequent presence at his parents’ modest white two-storey home, which they share with his four younger siblings and is just 2km from his apartment.

Forklift driver Chris Miller, 49, has lived next door for the past two years and said he wasn’t surprised to learn Noor was the policeman making international headlines for firing on Ms Damond after she called 911 about what she thought was a sexual assault in the alley behind her house.

“He is extremely nervous … he is a little jumpy … he doesn’t really respect women, the least thing you say to him can set him off,” Mr Miller said.

“When they say a policeman shot an Australian lady I thought uh, oh but then when they said who it was I was like, ‘OK.’”

He said Noor, who has refused to explain to investigators what led him to shoot dead bride-to-be Damond, was a strict and ill-tempered presence in the townhouse block, where children play together in a playground in a small park between the units.

“He got into it with the kids, they were outside playing and something got stuck in a tree and he came out and he just started yelling at the kids because they were out here playing,” Mr Miller said.

“He has little respect for women he has little respect for blacks and kids,” said Mr Miller, who is African-American.

“He has an air like you just couldn’t really be around him.”

Noor’s partner, Officer Matt Harrity, told investigators from Minnesota’s Bureau of Crime Apprehension the 31 year old rookie cop shot Ms Damond as she approached their squad car just as a loud noise erupted.

While Noor has not spoken about the incident, his brother on Tuesday told News Corp Australia the shooting was an “unfortunate” accident.

“We feel so bad about this, we are traumatised ourselves. It’s so unfortunate,” a family member said.

“If you wait for the investigation you’ll know it was an honest and sincere event that transpired. Until then we can’t really say anything.”

It looks increasingly likely Noor’s defence will be that he panicked and believed his squad car was attack after a loud noise — described by some sources as a banging on the car — and seeing a figure rushing in the dark towards them….

Trump ends program to arm anti-Assad jihadis in Syria

The Washington Post casts this story as evidence that President Trump is a pawn of the Russians, which is more of the Left’s ridiculous campaign to portray the 2016 election as having been stolen by Vladimir Putin. But this is the right decision. These “rebels” are mostly jihadis; arming and aiding them is arming and aiding enemies of the United States.

“Trump ends covert CIA program to arm anti-Assad rebels in Syria, a move sought by Moscow,” by Greg Jaffe and Adam Entous, Washington Post, July 19, 2017:

President Trump has decided to end the CIA’s covert program to arm and train moderate Syrian rebels battling the government of Bashar al-Assad, a move long sought by Russia, according to U.S. officials.

The program was a central plank of a policy begun by the Obama administration in 2013 to put pressure on Assad to step aside, but even its backers have questioned its efficacy since Russia deployed forces in Syria two years later.

Officials said the phasing out of the secret program reflects Trump’s interest in finding ways to work with Russia, which saw the anti-Assad program as an assault on its interests. The shuttering of the program is also an acknowledgment of Washington’s limited leverage and desire to remove Assad from power.

Just three months ago, after the United States accused Assad of using chemical weapons, Trump launched retaliatory airstrikes against a Syrian air base. At the time, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, said that “in no way do we see peace in that area with Assad at the head of the Syrian government.”

Officials said Trump made the decision to scrap the CIA program nearly a month ago, after an Oval Office meeting with CIA Director Mike Pompeo and national security adviser H.R. McMaster ahead of a July 7 meeting in Germany with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Spokesmen for the National Security Council and the CIA declined to comment….

“Palestinian” Muslim attempts to stab IDF troops in Judea and Samaria

The jihad against Israel is escalating again because of the grave Israeli offense of placing metal detectors at the Temple Mount. How dare the Israelis try to prevent jihad attacks!

“Palestinian attempts to stab IDF troops in West Bank; attacker shot dead,” Jerusalem Post, July 20, 2017:

There were no injuries to Israeli troops; attempted attack comes as tensions over Temple Mount flare.

A Palestinian assailant attempted to stab an IDF soldier stationed near the West Bank settlement of Tekoa on Thursday afternoon, the military confirmed.

Security forces shot and killed the would-be terrorist in response to the attempted attack….

On Tuesday, two soldiers were lightly wounded in a suspected car-ramming attack near the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba.

A Palestinian arrived driving a car at the entrance to the village of Beit Anun and accelerated into the troops, the army said. Forces responded by firing their weapons at the man, killing him….
