Australia: Muslim who slashed man’s throat while screaming “Allahu akbar” also said “I have to die today”

He wanted to claim the Qur’an’s promise of Paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (9:111).

The solution? Bring many, many more Muslims, among whom there will be an unknowable number of jihad killers, into Australia, Europe and North America.

More on this story. “‘Jihadist’ lunged at random victim, ‘I have to die today,’” by Andrew Tillett, The West Australian, September 12, 2016 (thanks to John):

A religious fanatic charged with terrorism repeatedly slashed at the throat of a random victim in a Sydney park while screaming it was a good day to die, witnesses say.

Ihsas Khan, 22, was refused bail yesterday on charges of committing a terrorist act and attempted murder, with police alleging he was inspired by Islamic State.

The attack comes less than a week after an Islamic State magazine called for “lone wolf” terror attacks in the suburbs of Australia.

Mr Khan is alleged to have set upon Wayne Greenhalg, 59, as he walked through a reserve in Minto in south-western Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses claim Mr Khan shouted “Allah Akbar” as he lunged at Mr Greenhalg’s throat and chest with a hunting knife, managing to slice off the tip of his thumb.

Mr Greenhalg, a married father of three, was last night in a stable condition in Liverpool Hospital. Bystanders were hailed as heroes by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for their actions in confronting Mr Khan.

Sivei Ah Chong had just arrived home when he heard Mr Greenhalg screaming for help. Mr Ah Chong bashed Mr Khan with a fence post, allowing Mr Greenhalg to escape.

“(I told) him to put the knife down, don’t be stupid and then he tried to stab me as well,” Mr Ah Chong told Seven News.

“I chased him with a pale, the fence pale and just bashed him.”

Duyen Phan, who runs a salon out of her garage, barricaded a bloodied Mr Greenhalg and herself inside as Mr Khan allegedly tried to smash his way in through a glass door.

“He (Mr Khan) said, ‘Yeah I have to die today, it’s my day’,” she said. Local residents said they had contacted the national security hotline as recently as last week because they were concerned about Mr Khan.

Police allege Mr Khan tried to stab an officer during his arrest and have not ruled out the idea the attack on Mr Greenhalg was intended to lure police to the scene so he could attack officers.

“We know that this person has strong religious beliefs inspired by ISIS,” NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn said. “What made him act yesterday we don’t know.”

Ms Burn said Mr Khan was known to police but not in connection to terrorism….
