BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — Police now confirm a son stabbed his father right before the altar call was given at Hillvue Heights Church Sunday morning.
Police say 21-year-old Ethan Buckley of Bowling Green stabbed his father during the 9:30 AM service.
Members of the congregation say both men filled out first time visitor cards at the beginning of the sermon, and said they were visiting from Arkansas.
A car that was towed from the church parking lot had Davidson County, Tennessee plates.
The victim was taken to the Medical Center in Bowling Green by ambulance, where his current condition is unknown.
Buckley was taken to the Warren County Regional Jail after being interviewed by police. He’s charged with Assault First Degree, Domestic Violence.
Witnesses say they saw lots of blood and it was complete chaos.
One of the Associate Pastors is reported to have tackled the person with the knife.
There were no other injuries reported during the stabbing, and police are calling it an isolated incident.
Hillvue Heights has declined to speak with the media.
